It reflects the elements of family life found in Rhinelander from around the turn of the century, up to the present time. Three Lakes Historical Society Woodruff Historical Society WISCONSIN HISTORICAL SOCIETY The Wisconsin Historical Society is both a state agency and a private membership organization. Founded in 1846, two years before statehood, and chartered in 1853, it is the oldest American historical society to receive continuous public funding. The Society serves as the archives of the State of Wisconsin; it collects books, periodicals, maps, manuscripts, relics, newspapers, and audio and graphic materials as they relate to North America. They provide many genealogical services such as vital record lookups and Civil War regimental records. And they now have a new searchable database called the Wisconsin Name Index HISTORY CENTER and ARCHIVES (HCA) Formerly known as ARC-NORTH (Area Reseach Center) The History Center and Archives at Ashland is a branch of the Wisconsin Historical Society and holds records for nine counties including Oneida: Naturalization Records; Pre-1907 bdm; newspapers on microfilm; platmaps; etc. |
