LaFont
"LaFont, four miles south east of the Village of Prentice, was a
very busy log shipping center prior to 1915. It was located just south of
where Chicago Ave. joins Highway 8. A short distance east of that point the
railroad spur entered a fairly good cut with a high bank on the south side
and a little knoll on the north side. This is where the buildings were."
