LEARNED, RAYMOND ADELMAR, born in Port Washington, Wis., November 2, 1891;son of Fred W. and Elezibeth (Ingersoll) Learned; lives 413 Main Street, PortWashington, Wis.; entered service at Saskatoon, Saskatchewan, Canada, April 7, 1916;member A Company, 65th Overseas Battalion, C. E. F.; transferred to 46th CanadianInfantry Battalion; Scout Division, Sharpshooters; rant, private; trained at Saskatoonuntil July, 1916, then overseas and into front line; battles, Vimy Ridge; woundedMay, 1917, and in September, 1917; in front line trenches continuously from August,1916, until September, 1917; except short time in hospital and several weeks in AmbulanceCorps; one of few survivors of Canadian Battalions wiped out at Vimy Ridge; decorations,was to have received medal for distinguished service in capturing enemy machine gunand taking five prisoners single-handed. Killed in action at Avion, September 7,1917. Buried at Villers-Au-Bois Station, Military Cemetery, France.

LECHER, MICHAEL T., born in Sheboygan, Wis., October 25, 1891; son of Nicand Kate (Possley) Lecher; lives R. F.
