The Clintonville Tribune - Clintonville, Wisconsin - January 27, 1928
Bessie Cotton Wed in Chicago, Jan 19.
Miss Bessie Cotton, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Joe D. Cotton of this city and Chicago, was married to Mr. John D. Thompson of Jackson, Mississippi on Jan. 19th. The wedding was a quite one only immediate relatives being present and took place in the Presbyterian parsonage in Chicago. They will make their home Chicago where Mr. Thompson is connected with the General Electric Co.

The bride is a graduate of the Clintonville high school and later attended Lawrence college, Appleton and the University of Wisconsin. The past year she has spent with her parents in Chicago. He many friends here will extend best wishes to the young couple.

PRETTY WEDDING AT EMBARRASS CHURCH
A pretty wedding took place at the Zion Lutheran Church at Embarrass last Wednesday evening at 7 o'clock when Miss Mabel Schmidt, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Aug. Schmidt, became the bride of Mr. Armond Fehrman: a son of Mr. and Mrs. Alfred Fehrman. The ceremony was performed by Rev. Walter List pastor of the church. They were attended by Orlinda Fehrman of Embarrass, Arthur Kruse of Shawano, Hazel Schmidt of Belle Plaine and Carl Pintsch of Townsend, Agnes, sister of the bride, was flower girl.

Following the ceremony a reception was held at the bride's home, there being some thirty families as guests. The home was beautifully decorated with evergreen and pink and white roses.

They will make their future home at Townsend. A host of friends extend best wishes to them.

ERNA KUBITZ AND HAROLD MICHAELS WED LAST SATURDAY
Miss Erna Kubitz, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Fred Kubitz of the town of Bear Creek and Mr. Harry Michaels were quietly married last Saturday evening at the home of the bride's parents. Rev. R. F. W. Pautz was the officiating pastor. The young couple were attended by Miss Margaret Kubitz of Milwaukee and Mr. Frederick Kubitz of this city, sister and brother of the bride. Following the ceremony a wedding reception was held in their honor at which there were about twenty quests, all immediate friends or relatives. The home was beautifully decorated in pink and white and cut flowers.

The bride wore blue georgette and carried a shower bouquet of tea roses. The maid of honor wore old rose Georgetta and a corsage bouquet of sweet peas. Guests from out of town included Miss Ollie Nielson and Otto Kubitz of Milwaukee, Mr. and Mrs. Ed. Schoenick of Marion and Geo. Michaels, father of the groom of Soperton,

The bride has been employed as chief operator of the Western Union office in this city the past year, having also spent two years in the same work previously at Racine. She has a host of friends in this community who wish her well. The groom is employed by the Chicago & Northwestern Railway. They will make their home at 137 Harriet Street, this city.

Announcement of the marriage of Oscar Wiesman, a former Marion resident, and Miss Mable Clark of Oshkosh, has been made. The wedding took place at Escanaba, Mich., on Saturday, where the bride has been teaching. The young couple are enjoying an auto trip to Detroit and will be at home to their friends in Weyauwega where Mr. Wiesman is owner of the Ford garage. Mrs. Wiesman was a former teacher in the local school and their many Marion friends join in sending congratulations to the newlyweds.

REBMAN-LOUGHRIN
A pretty church wedding was solemnized at St. Mary's church on Tuesday morning at 9 o'clock when Miss Marie Rebman became the bride of Francis Loughrin. The nuptial Mass was read by Rev. Fr. M. Alt.

The bride's attendants were Miss Bertille Rice of Wilton and Miss Cecelia McClone of the village. The bridegroom was attended by his cousin, John Loughrin of the town of Lebanon and Dan Rebman of New London, brother of the bride. The little flower girls were Helen Josephine Rebman, cousin of the bride and Anna May Smith, cousin of the groom.

The bride made a charming picture in a wedding gown of white georgette trimmed with Spanish lace and footwear to harmonize. She wore a veil and head band and carried a shower bouquet of mixed flowers.

Miss Rice wore a dress of figured chiffon, hat and footwear to match. She carried an arm bouquet of mixed flowers. Miss McClone wore a dress of pink georgette, hat and footwear to match and carried an arm bouquet of mixed flowers. The flower girls wore pink dresses.

After the church ceremonies a wedding reception was held at the home of Mr. and Mrs. L.J. Rebman for immediate relatives. In the evening a wedding dance was given at Lee Lyn Land Hall.

The bride is a daughter of Mr. George Rebman of the village. She was a graduate of our local schools and of the County Normal. She was a successful teacher of Outagamie county. The groom is a resident of the town of Lebanon. He is a popular young man of the vicinity where he lives and the young couple have hosts of friends who congratulate them. They will reside on the groom's farm in the town of Lebanon.

SOCIETY
Miss Lorena Van Voorhis of the town of Matteson and Mr. Charles Allender were married last Saturday evening, August 18, at the Bethany church parsonage in this city by the Rev. L. Moland. They were attended by Mr. and Mrs. Herbert Van Voorhis. The bride is a daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Cornelius Van Voorhis. The groom is a son of Mr. and Mrs. Wm. Allender of Embarrass and is employed on the Henry Brooks farm in the town of Matteson, where the newly-weds will make their home.

MORRIS-WECK
A pretty wedding took place at the Methodist parsonage at Shawano last Sunday noon at 12:30 o'clock when Rev. Ben Plopper, pastor of the M.E. church there, united in marriage Miss Marjorie Morris of Matteson and Mr. Carl Weck of West Allis. They were attended by Mr. and Mrs. Oscar Sommers, the latter a sister of the bride.

The bride wore tan satin georgette with picture hat to match. She is a daughter of Mrs. Sarah Morris of Matteson and a sister of City Atty. R. H. Morris of this city. She is a graduate of the Clintonville high school, Waupaca County Normal and attended Oshkosh Normal. Since she has been teaching school for several years.

The groom is a son of Mr. and Mrs. Walter Weck of West Allis, is a high school graduate and is employed by the National Tea Co. at Milwaukee.

After the ceremony a reception was held at the bride's home for immediate relatives and friends and the young couple left the same day for Milwaukee where they will make their future home.

BUCHHOLZ-BRAUCH
A pretty wedding took place last  Saturday afternoon, at 4 0'clock at the Evangelical parsonage at Milwaukee when Miss Donabel Buchholz, daughter of Wm. Buchholz of the town of Matteson, became the bride of Mr. Edwin Brauch of Milwaukee. The ceremony was performed by the Rev. Bloch, pastor of the Evangelical church. They were attended by Miss Romona Korb of this city and Mr. Charles Shubert of Milwaukee.

The bride looked beautiful in delicate pink taffeta, pink satin shoes and a bridal bouquet of roses, baby breath and larkspar. The maid of honor wore peach satin with tulle. Flower decorations were yellow tea roses, baby breath and harmonizing larkspar.

After the ceremony a wedding dinner was served at the new Avlan Hotel at Waukesha for the wedding party. They left the same day for a honeymoon trip to Mammoth Cave, Ky. They will make their home in Milwaukee upon their return and will be at home to their friends at 888 Twenty-ninth street, after Sept. 10th.

The bride is a graduate of the Clintonville high school and for the past five years has been employed at Milwaukee. Her many friends here extend best wishes.

YOUNG-O'CONNOR
A pretty wedding took place at the St. Rose church in this city last week Monday, August 28th, at 8 a.m., when Miss Irene Young, of Oconto became the bride of Mr. Llewellyn O'Connor of this city. The ceremony was performed by Rev. Fr. Dietrich. The attendants were Miss Mildred Jackson and Mr. William O'Connor, the latter a brother of the groom, both Oconto.

Following the ceremony, which took place at 8 o'clock in the morning, the wedding party motored to Oconto where a wedding reception and breakfast was tendered them at the home of the bride's mother. There were about fifty guests.

The same afternoon the young couple left on a honeymoon trip to various cities in southern Wisconsin. They will make their home on North Clinton Ave., in this city. Mr. O'Connor came here last spring and has operated the FWD billiard parlor the past summer. He has played baseball with the local team throughout the season and by his fine work at third base has not only won the close friendship of the entire team but the admiration of every fan in the city. In appreciation of this the fans last Monday tendered him a purse as a wedding gift an account of which is given in another column.

BEAR CREEK HAPPENINGS
MULLARKEY-VAN DREESE
St. Mary's church in the village was the scene of a pretty wedding Saturday morning at nine 0'clock when Miss Margaret Mullarkey of the town of Bear Creek became the bride of Milton Van Dreese of Sturgeon Bay. The nuptial mass was celebrated by Rev. M. Alt.

The attendants were Miss Anna Mullarkey, sister of the bride and Arthur Mueller of Sturgeon Bay.

The bride was becomingly gowned in a wedding dress of light blue georgette, hat to match and she wore gray footwear. She carried a shower bouquet of butterfly roses and baby breath.

The bridesmaid wore a tan satin dress with hat and footwear to harmonize. She carried an arm bouquet of tea roses.

Following the church ceremonies a wedding dinner was served to the immediate families at the home of the bride.

The bride is a daughter of Mr. and Mrs. James Mullarkey of the town of Bear Creek. She has been a successful school teacher and for the last few years has been employed at Sturgeon Bay.

The bridegroom is a son of Mrs. Delia Van Dreese of Sturgeon Bay. He is a successful business man of his home city.

The newly wedded couple left on a wedding trip through the southern part of the state. They will make their home at Sturgeon bat.

Out-of-town guests at the wedding were Mrs. Delia VanDreese and daughter Priscilla and Mrs. Marie VanDreese and daughter Virginia or Green Bay, Mr.
and Mrs. H.J. Sullivan of Fisk, John Mullarkey and Miss Ellen Hurley of Appleton, and miss Alice Loughrin of the town of Lebanon.  

TRIEGLAFF-GARLBRACHT
Miss Eliza Trieglaff, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Chas. Trieglaff, Ninth street this city, was married to Mr. Karl F. Garlbracht at the St. Martin's parsonage by the Rev. R. F. W. Pautz last Monday morning at 7:30. They were attended by Miss Erna Trieglaff sister of the bride, and Gerhardt Thorson. The bride wore white crepe de chine, white picture hat to match and carried roses and sweetpears. The maid of honor wore pink with hat to match.

After the ceremony a reception for only immediate relatives took place the bride's home. The newlyweds left the same afternoon for Milwaukee where they will make their home. The bride is well known here and for the past several years has been employed at Milwaukee.

Bannes of marriage were published at St. Mary's church Sunday for Miss Katherine Dempsey of the village and Mike Gorman of the town of Lebanon.

DEMPSEY-GORMAN
A pretty church wedding was solemnized at St. Mary's Church  Tuesday morning at 8 o'clock when Miss Kathryn Dempsey of the village and Michael Gorman of the town of Lebanon were untied in the holy bonds of matrimony.

The nuptial mass was celebrated by Rev. Fr. M. Alt. Mrs. Frank Flanagan presided at the organ,

The attending couple were Miss Mae Dempsey, sister of the bride and John Gorman, brother of the bridegroom.

The bride wore a becoming wedding dress of cocoa tan georgette and velvet with hate and footwear to harmonize. She carried a shower bouquet of pink roses. The bridesmaid's dress was of tan georgette and velvet with hat and footwear to match. She carried a bouquet of pink carnations,

After a wedding breakfast for the bridal party the young couple left on a wedding trip. They will visit the Dells of Wisconsin, and other points in southern Wisconsin.

The bride is a daughter of Mrs. Mary Dempsey of the village. She is a popular young lady of the community and has given efficient service as local operator in the telephone exchange here for a number of years.

The groom is a son of Mrs. Mary Gorman of the town of Lebanon. He is an industrious and well liked young man of his home community.

The young couple will reside on the groom's farm in the town of Lebanon.

WOLF-SCHARNOW
Miss Tillie Wolf, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. F.C. Schultz of the town of Belle Plaine, and Mr. Arthur Scharnow were married at the Lutheran parsonage at Belle Plaine by the Rev. J.F. Potratz last Monday, June 11, at 2 o'clock. They were attended by William T. Schultz and Hazel B. Zarling. The groom is a son of Mr. and Mrs. Wm. Scharnow of the town of Bear Creek. He operates a cheese factory in the town of Waukechon, Shawano County, where the newlyweds will make their future home. They have the best wishes of many friends here.
