Town of Fifield, Price County, WI

The Town of Fifield was formed from a part of the Town of Worcester on 18 Nov 1879. It was 250 square miles. It is located in the north-eastern section of Price County with both the north and south branches of the Flambeau River and it's tributaries running through it.

The first village established in the Town was the Village of Fifield located on the northern bank of the south fork of the Flambeau River. The village began as a simple signal station on the railroad line of the Wisconsin Central Rail Road as a stop providing supplies to the loggers in the area.

The other early settlement in the Town was Coolidge.

It includes numerous lakes and part of the Chequamegon National Forest.

The Pike Lake Area is a haven for fishing enthusiasts.
