Below are a couple of my favorite internet resources for searching for vital records:

Family Search

(contains vital records, often times with downloadable copies of birth, marriage and death certificates; census records, and baptismal records)

Wisconsin Historical Society

(contains vital records prior to 1907)

Vital Records might be obtained from the Price County Courthouse in Phillips if Price County was the location where the person was born, married or died. Deaths were not registered until 1879; births and marriages were not registered until 1880.

Many people came from, or moved to, other areas of the state so a visit to the state vital records office in Madison might be a good resource. Contact the Madison office for complete information on research procedures and the hours of operation before traveling there. Some records may not be accessible.
